For most organizations, the last 6-8 months have been a roller coaster ride. Since early 2020, the only constant, as they say, was change. Between shutdowns, furloughs, and a shift to full time remote work, employees and employers alike worried about job safety, child care, and managing their livlihoods while maintaining their health.

If there is a silver lining to be had, and we have to believe there is, it's that we've - quite unexpectedly - gone beyond simple survival. We haven't just survived, we've thrived. Organizations large and small have risen to the occasion to meet their employees' basic needs, and then quickly pivoted to innovate, strategize, and grow.

In a recent article1, industry analyst and HR, leadership, and HR technology thought leader Josh Bersin called COVID-19 "a business transformation disguised as a pandemic." He notes that living through a pandemic has become a catalyst for empathy in the workplace. Employers are doing everything they can to support employee well-being, and have been rewarded with increased engagement and productivity.

We're fortunate enough to have the opportunity to speak with Lori Rucker, Solutions Architect, Information Technology at Hines, which is one of the world's largest real estate organizations in the world. Hines is also an organization that has maintained a strong focus on employee engagement throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Watch our online webinar event, The Future of Employee Engagement and Experience: A Digital Workplace Webinar to hear how Lori and her team at Hines have approached leading through the pandemic, and hear their plans moving forward. During the event, you'll also hear from Akumina President David Maffei, who will share his perspective on employee experience past, present, and future.

We'll cover topics like:
  • Shifting to a digital-centric workplace
  • Maintaining and improving employee engagement
  • Where technology fits in
  • What’s next for digital employee engagement
